LIFE IS ART, WEALTH IS MATH

The Gift Of Being Exact
Dr. John Ayudtud

Exactness makes the process of business predictably successful as mathematics. But life is filled with twists and turns and mistakes do create an explosion of irreparable damages. We should always be aware of the surrounding events as to enable us to be educated on resultant graduation of things. In other words, as Mr. Jim Rohn, a legend philosopher aptly put it: "You cannot be naive in life." Quick thinking is the key to success, contrary to many assertions that you must do a diligent study before acting on a matter. Yes, quick thinking is a gift. Quick thinking that is exact. As in Math, students who see the solutions can quickly extrapolate the formula. We play with time, and if we are not quick and at the same time exact, we regretfully get beat up.

Life being that it is art, we must not worry to much about perfection. In our actions we do not have the certainty that we cannot make mistakes. In fact, the reasonable acts is to allow mistakes so that we can be more wise. Life being art, we cannot be exact. Exactness in art delves very much on the action rather than on perfection. Building up wealth depends largely on the flexibility of your personality. You cannot be angry because of imperfections. But be sure you know what you are doing, and be sure that the allowance of mistakes that you tolerate does not cheat the numbers you want to accomplish. Just like the wind which causes objects to fly, the twists and turns of events give us the ability to understand proper perception. Let's try to control the numbers and not the events. Let's be precise in our plannings but allow mistakes to happen. In the end, our success will not be dependent on the exactness of our measurement, rather it will be the result of the flexibility of our dispositions. The thing to do is not to delay. The thing to do is to be quick in our thinking. The great sage, Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "You do the thing and you will have the power." I say, Act on it as quickly as you can and allow mistakes to promote you into a more successful vantage stage in life.
